The war on fertiliser has come to Britain, says Chris Morrison, with Labour imposing a 'carbon' import duty on the farming essential. Not content with making Brits colder and poorer, they are making us hungrier.

For a society free of intolerence and racism!

This is a great inititive and well done to all concerned for organising it. Unfortunately it clashes with the National Public Setvice Alliance (NPSA) Rally Against the so-called 'pay' 'deal' And Against the cuts in Public Services proposed in that 'deal' taking place in the Mont Clare Hotel, Merrion Square from 12-4pm also on Saturday. It's s pity as both events will take numbers from other each other.

Actually it's the conference on the pay deal that clashes with the rally in memory of Toyosi, seeing as the rally was called first. As the rally heads for the Dáil, it would be good if the conference could adjourn for half an hour and come round the corner to show support. After all, the public service includes some workers who would be potential targets for racist violence themselves, and it's in all our interests to stand up against those who want to divide us.

"Family and friends bid tearful final farewell to slain schoolboy Toyosi" at: http://www.herald.ie/national-news/family-and-friends-b....html
Fair play to them, they included: "A statement was issued by the Toyosi Memorial Committee announcing that a peaceful march and rally will take place in Dublin city centre on Saturday. ... The march will begin at the Garden of Remembrance at Parnell Square at 2pm and proceed to the Dail. "

"" League of Ireland fans who fancy forming a bloc on the Toyosi march, meet at the front of the Ambassador at 1:45 this Saturday. Wear colours. Unite against racism! Please spread this far and wide. His coffin was draped with a Shelbourne F.C flag, and he was a part of the Shels Youths"
