It used to be in the St Andrews Centre in Pearse St of a Saturday. Someone please clarify where the location for this event is.

The new location for the Dublin Food co-op is in Newmarket off the Coombe/Cork Street Dublin 8.

Sorry but the last commentator really is scraping the barrel there. Scientology is a fraudulent, tax evaders, family destroying dangerous cult which specialises in popular culture infiltration such as Hollywood and entryist tactics in anti-psichiatry and drug rehabilitation projects as well as experimental behaviour modulation. Steiner Waldorf does none of the above, if so we would see tree hugging and flower pressing in every second Hollywood movie - and the mentally handicapped who take part in its eurythemic performances would be household names - a considerable amount of citizens would be well adjusted, slightly fluffy hippies, undoubtedly pacifist, musically able, good dancers but surprisingly rather bad at long division sums or given to careers in banking or insurance.

Ireland has long needed and has had citizens and parents who have wanted the option of Steiner Waldorf education through all levels for their children.

Don't libel them. They're not as much fun to take the piss out of as Scientologists. But their pals are Scientology's enemies.

At first I thought the above reference to libel might be strong language, but on 2nd reading I agree that the above cultwatch comments are indeed libelous.

To suggest that the Camphill movement is in anyway linked to Nazi or faschist philosophy or ideals is

- factually incorrect - Camphill is named after a farm in Scotland to which these Austrians escaped with their charges, children with learning and physical disabilities; they fled nazi-occupied Austria when they saw that disabled people were dissappearing (before the Jewish and others). In Scotland they founded a community where everyone's contribution is valued regardless of ability.

- intellectually inadequate - a person who had any direct experience of the wonderful freedom of learning and expression that is given to everyone in a Camphill community regardless of their abilities, the value of each to the other, could never suggest that this movement was in anyway influenced by any kind of faschist philisophy.

- culturally poverty stricken/mean - you need to get out more. You appear to rely only on the internet for all your experience.

Rudolf Steiner founded his first school for the Waldorf Astoria factory in1919 on three principals:

that male and female children be educated together
that all children of the factory employees from the topmost office to the factory floor attend together
that teachers determine how the school is run

It is an education method founded on the belief that we truly learn only through the hands the heart and the head, and that if all three are not brought to play, we do not learn truly.

It is called the free Waldorf school because the curriculum is free of determination by the State. Yet the German State seems to approve - all Waldorf Schools in Germany are funded at the rate of 70%. I do not think that the German State - which was an occupied one until the relatively recent reunification - would either have wished to fund an organisation that had links to the national socialist movement nor been given the opportunity.

I suggest Cultwatch withdraw these comments, but also that you visit any Camphill community or Waldorf school and have yoursel a direct experience of LEARNING.

I would also think that you should publish your full name and details if you wish to stand by your comments. In the absence of your name, these comments are mere libel, to be viewed with contempt.
