1. Where is my comment/article gone?
There are 3 possibilities
Collation of stories
Breach of Editorial Guidelines
ImSureThereWasAThirdOne?
*Collation of Articles* Indymedia now has a policy of collating postings regarding one issue on one page, if you look back in the newswire for a subject you may find your posting in the comments there. Also see What's Media Update?
Users also become aware of new comments on stories through the commentary button on the top left of the page : Latest Comments
*Breach of Editorial Guidelines* Described at IndymediaIrelandEditorialPolicy and posted and dicussed on Indymedia Ireland.

A: If you saw the story on the site and it has now been removed, an editor will have done this because of their interpretation of the editorial guidelines. Whenever this happens a notice is sent automatically to a mailing list and your story is hidden for period before being deleted. The best approach is to ask on the editorial list why the post was deleted - editors will find and explain the decision. You can send your question using the contact form (link), or by joining the list if you wish to discuss further. If you didn't see the post after you pressed publish please inform us - there may be a technical problem. Because of the structure of this site anything published should appear first and then be reviewed.
If you have further questions/comments on the issue contact imc-editorial-ireland@lists.indymediaSTOPSPAM.org It is helpful if you give the URL of the story or comment. *Hint* Get the URL of the comment by right clicking on the number link at the start of the commets section and chosoing Copy Shortcut.
2. How do I create a feature?
If theres an article which you think deserves to be featured please recommend it to imc-ireland@lists.indymediaSTOPSPAM.org

3. What shall I write about?
The short answer is just do whatever interests you!
Ideally the collection of interviews (either transcripts or audio/video) and first-hand reports of whatever issue happens to be your concern, especially if it is under-reported or inaccurately reported in the mainstream media would be something you could help with.
Material which specifically relates to Ireland and Irish affairs has a higher priority in my mind, but international analysis is definitely not excluded.
4.How do I promote my talk/meeting/protest:posting an event?
Indymedia.ie has a special page/category for events at Event Calendar Click on the publish button and on the publish page it will give you an option for which article type: choose Event, then fill in the date. This will then be published on the events page, upcoming events are highlighted on a side bar on the front page. Please do not post it as a seperate story in the newswire. *Hint* Type in the time and location of the event in the title also.
5. Someone is claiming to be me on the newswire?
Because of Indymedia Ireland Open Publishing system anyone can post under anyname but if you believe someone is maliciously posting under your distinct name please use the contact page or email imc-ireland-editorial@lists.indymedia.org
Other more technical methods for dealing with impersonations are discussed here.
6. Can I donate?
Yes. Details for donation to Indymedia.ie here.
7. What's Media Update?
If your latest paper or newsheet has come out or has been updated post a notice here. If you wish to highlight a story from another or massmedia source, place it in here and give a small description. Copy and pasted articles from other sources with no additional commentary will be moved to here and replaced by link to the source.
8 How do I complain bout someting on the site?
Use the contact form to bring objectionable articles to the attention of an editor - be patient though since, while we try to monitor the lists all of the time, it may take a while (hours) for a response. It helps if you can give the url of the offending story or comment and if you can state the guideline it breaks (abuse, untrue, cut n paste are the most frequent).
9. How is this site moderated/edited?
There is an informal structure to editing of Indymedia.ie based around keeping the site flowing and cultivating good news pieces?
Described at IndymediaIrelandEditorialPolicy and posted and dicussed on Indymedia Ireland.
10. How can I contribute?
A Click publish and start typing.
B Read an article contemplate then click add your comment.
C Write about, record an issue which you have an interest in and publish it asa article.
