PAOLA CATIZONE:
I'm exploring with space, movement, mark making, music. I want to take my art work out of the sphere of my own decision making and I do so by setting myself basic movement parameters and by relying on different forms of music. Repetitive, spontaneous gesture ranges from the expansive, using the widest movements in the body, to locomotion, moving trough space, and to tiny, fine mark making which is reminiscent of weaving and embroidery. Trance music, such as Italian Taranta or Moroccan Gnawa in particular, are great allies to this process. Repetitive, obsessive and exhilarating rhythms take body , mind and drawing into a different sphere of being where prolonged, dynamic action yields vibrant energy instead of exhaustion. The focused, repetitive, insistent and prolonged quality of these sessions turn them into rituals of sorts. I like collaborating, with musicians, DJ's, and other art makers during these synesthetic feasts, which take art forms outside of their usual frames of practice into unknown territories.

PIERPAOLO VITALE:

Originally from Puglia, Pierpaolo went on to study at the Scuola Nazionale di Cinema in Rome, and has dedicated himself to his two passions, acting and singing, since the age of 15. He played the leading role in the independent film 'Da che parte stai' by Mario Bucci, and composed the soundtrack for the film 'L'uomo del sonno' by Andrea Fasciani, as well as performing in numerous film and theatre productions in Italy and beyond. He is now working in Dublin on his first solo album, where he performs regularly at various live music venues.
