Save Live Music Campaign launched by Van Morrison and Andrew Lloyd Webber

category international | arts and media | news report author Tuesday August 25, 2020 13:49author by van fan Report this post to the editors

Come forward, stand up, fight the pseudo-science and speak up.

Van Morrison and Andrew Lloyd Webber have enough and has launched the Save Live Music Campaign and have released this message

As you know, we are doing socially distanced gigs at Newcastle Upon Tyne’s Gosforth Park, Electric Ballroom and The London Palladium. This is not a sign of compliance or acceptance of the current state of affairs, this is to get my band up and running and out of the doldrums. This is also not the answer going forward. We need to be playing to full capacity audiences going forward.

I call on my fellow singers, musicians, writers, producers, promoters and others in the industry to fight with me on this.

Come forward, stand up, fight the pseudo-science and speak up.

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and myself appear to be the only people in the music business trying to get it back up and running again. Come forward.

It’s not economically viable to do socially distanced gigs. Come forward now, the future is now.

We would like to publish a list of names of all those who are supporting the industry. If you would like your name included contact us at webadmin@exileproductions.net

Looks like Noel Gallagher has spoken

https://www.spin.com/2020/09/noel-gallagher-refuses-to-wear-a-mask-in-public-liberties-being-taken-away/

The singer/songwriter recounted a trip to the supermarket where a shop employee told him to wear a mask. But since it wasn’t a law, Gallagher demanded to speak to a manager.

“I don’t give a fuck,” he said. “I choose not to wear one and if I get the virus it’s on me, it’s not on anyone else. If every other cunt’s wearing a mask I’m not gonna catch it off them, and If I’ve got it then they’re not gonna catch it off me. I think it’s a piss take.”

Gallagher further questioned why people need to wear a mask on public transportation or at a barber’s shop but not if they’re out getting a drink.

“I was going up to Manchester the other week and some guy’s going ‘can you put your mask on, because the transport police will get on and fine you a thousand pounds. But you don’t have to put it on if you’re eating’,” he said. “So I was saying ‘Oh right, this killer virus that’s sweeping through the train is gonna come and attack me but see me having a sandwich and go leave him, he’s having his lunch?’”
