CCS/IHSA Conference 2011

The Irish History Students' Association Annual Conference will take place this year in Univesity College, Cork.

It will run from Friday evening 25th to Sunday 27th of February.
Talks will be given on a wide variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

Irish involvement in the First World War

The history of sport in Ireland

Modern Irish Finance

Europe and World War II

American Foreign Policy

We are sure there will be something for everyone throughout the conference.

If you would like to take part in the wine reception on the Friday night and the lunch on Saturday, the price is just €15 (this also includes a conference pack).

There will also be a walking tour of Cork, with stops in some of Cork's most famous pubs along the way on Sunday afternoon.

19:30 Opening Reception, Aula Maxima.
20:00 Welcome speech by Professor Geoffrey Roberts, Head of School of History, UCC.

08:30-09:15 Registration, First Floor of the O’Rahilly Building (ORB)
09:15-10:45 First Round of Panels
10:45-11:00 Coffee/Tea
11:00-13:00 Second Round of Panels
13:00-14:00 Lunch Break. Announcement of last year’s Prize Winners
14:00-15:30 Third Round of Panels
15:30-16:00 Coffee/Tea
16:00-17:30 Last Round of Panels
17:30 CCB CCS - IHSA AGM Representatives from all affiliated history groups to attend.

Domhnach 27ú Feabhra - Sunday 27th February

12:00 Walking tour of the city, interspersed/followed by live traditional music in some of Corcaigh’s finest pubs.
