Trump's clash with Harvard shows a deeper culture war over what universities should be, with the Government pushing for merit and neutrality while Harvard clings to power and privilege, says Prof James Alexander.

In the Guardian's latest climate gobbledegook, Friederike Otto redefines climate change as a "crisis of justice", focusing on moralising and social justice rather than the science, argues Charles Rotter.

I heard that Tommy's case will finish on Monday. Hopefully then the truth will also come out and Tommy's innocence will be backed by the jury. Gail's victory is another defeat for Murdoch's rotten press and the British State.

Tommy Sheridan is now a proven liar. What a surprise..... not.

Many (indeed most) of the Crown witnesses admitted during the course of the trial that they had given misleading information during the libel trial - including several members of the SSP and Bob Bird of the NotW.

In some ways I feel sympathy for groups like the CWI. Especially after reading their analysis of the Sheridan trial. Anyone who believes that there was such a monstrous conspiracy against Sheridan, involving the state, the NOTW, the SSP, and a collection of other unconnected people really does need their head examining. The truth is much simpler. Tommy is a liar and a hypocrite, as well as being someone who was willing to destroy a socialist organisation in order to protect the lies he constructed concerning his personal life. Any socialist organisation worth its salt would have nothing to do with him. But for the CWI, Tommy is still the Great White Hope, and so the lies continue, as do the slurs and slanders against the SSP. If anyone wants to know why an organisation that had 8000 members in Britain in the 1980s now has a rump of only a few hundred at the most, they could do no better than look at the rubbish the CWI have produced regarding the Sheridan case over the past 5 years.
