Sinn Fein leadership denounced as "vermin" by Gerry McGeough

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Saturday March 13, 2010 20:59author by S. Reilly Report this post to the editors

Gerry McGeough, speaking on WBAI's Radio Free Eireann, today denounced the leadership of Sinn Fein as "vermin" who are supporting British "scum" in Ireland.

McGeough spoke on the programme hosted by John McDonagh and Sandy Boyer.

McGeough is on trial in Belfast charged with attempted murder of a part-time policeman back in 1981. McGeough said he is being tried in a Diplock, non-jury court which were set up to railroad republicans into prison.

He said there was an Orange Lodge, anti-Irish, anti-Catholic atmosphere in the courtroom. No forensics were being offered as evidence just hear-say from people who have been dead for years.

The trial was halted last Wednesday after the defence lawyers obtained a summons to get the N.I.O. to produce information which heretofore they have not.

McGeough said he is being subjected to on-going character assassination. He said the Sinn Fein leaders are inept and should have negotiated a blanket amnesty for all. He said the prosecution has placed him and his family in turmoil and that there has not been one word from the Sinn Fein leadership expressing the outrage of the people.

He said that some on-the-runs have been given immunity because they are loyal to Sinn Fein. After the Sunday Tribune story by Suzanne Breen there was an immediate denial of any such deal, but, said McGeough, the trial has now been halted because the N.I.O. is refusing to give sensitive information to the defense.

McGeough said the trial is a show trial and an attempt to silence him. He said that Sinn Fein made a deal so that he can be prosecuted while others receive a royal pardon. He said that the Sinn Fein leadership were "vermin' who support British "scum" in Ireland.

There will be a longer interview with McGeough on St. Patrick's day on WBAi's Radio Free Eireann.

Here is a good article from indymedia on McGeogh- http://www.indymedia.ie/article/81242

Excerpt: "He cited the ‘socially liberal’ stances of Sinn Fein as the reason for his departure, saying:

“You would never get a leader of Sinn Fein condemning abortion, homosexual ‘marriage’ or anything of that nature. I, as an Irish nationalist and Catholic, never want to see the day when there are abortion clinics in every market town in Ireland. But looking around there is no political grouping willing to take a stance against that.”

In the spring of 2004 McGeough went on a national speaking tour with one time Youth Defence stalwart and current friend of European neo-nazis Justin Barrett.
In May 2006 he launched ‘The Hibernian’ magazine and was reportedly involved in an entryist type strategy within the Ancient Order of Hibernians at the same time.

The Hibernian Magazine:

“There can be only one Irish Nation. A Catholic one, that will never again be ruled by a heretic monarch from England.” - ‘The Hibernian’ magazine.

The central idea that one finds in ‘The Hibernian’ magazine is that various supernatural entities have a direct influence on human society. These entities include God, the Devil, Mary, and Guardian Angels."

An armed postmen? where was this? (unless this fulltime postie had a sideline as a soldier or something? but that wouldn't be quite as damning a story would it...)
