Two telemasts, two quarries, an airport, a seaplane jetty, a nursing home and a gas-fired power plant

Ballyduff Against Radiation has appealed against conditional planning permission granted by Waterford County Council to H3G for a mast at Ballyduff Upper. (Dungarvan Leader 22/1/10, p. 9).

A decision is expected this week on an application by H3G to replace an existing mast at the Garda station in Kildysart, Co. Clare, with a new 30 metre high mast which is facing opposition from local residents who defeated a similar proposal some 10 years ago. (Clare People 19/1/10, p. 17).

Mayo County Council has requested more information from P&D Lydon Plant Hire in support of its application to continue rock extraction and processing at Carrowoughteragh, Shrule, which has faced some local opposition. (Western People 19/1/10, p. 6).

Mayo County Council was condemned at a recent County Council meeting for doing business with three companies who are operating quarries without a licence. (Mayo News 19/1/10, p. 21)

An An Bord Pleanala oral hearing into the proposed runway extension for Sligo Airport will open on January 26th at Sligo Park Hotel. (Sligo Weekender 19/1/10, p. 3).

Harbourair Ireland, which is proposing to site a jetty for a seaplane service at Mountshannon, Co. Clare, has reacted angrily to an instruction from the Department of the Environment to Clare County Council that an environmental impact study for the project, which has been objected to by Mountshannon Community Council, among other groups, is necessary. (Clare People 19/1/10, p. 9).

At a meeting last week residents of Knockranny and Buckwaria, near Westport, Co. Mayo, agreed to object to a proposal by Coillte to develop a 86-bed nursing home at Colonel's Wood, Westport. (Mayo News 19/1/10, p. 16)

An An Bord Pleanala oral hearing into a proposed gas-fired power plant near Cloghan, some 18 miles from Athlone, began on January 19th and will hear submissions from An Taisce, the EPA and the HSA. A spokesperson for Lumcloon Residents' Association said they fully support the proposal by Tullamore company Lumcloon Energy. (Midland Tribune 21/1/09, pp. 1,2).

No -the problem relates to distribution of an older technology -newspapers- as Dublin is the only place the Crow is able to light on a national selection, as you'd have seen if you'd checked my previous comments on stopping these weekly reports. Still, why bother with that when you're just interested in being clever?
