World march for peace and nonviolence

Call to all antiwar and peace organisations , communities and individuals, peace activists and pacifists and everyone who believes in the power of nonviolence and agrees with the importance of disarmament at national and global level.

8th November -Sunday 12noon-3.30pm

PEACE MARCH TO SHANNON AIRPORT and FORMING A NON-VIOLENCE SIGN

Call to all antiwar and peace organisations , communities and individuals, peace activists and pacifists and everyone who believes in the power of nonviolence and agrees with the importance of disarmament at national and global level.

PEACE MARCH TO SHANNON AIRPORT and FORMING A NON-VIOLENCE SIGN

We invite you and your organisation to be part of our a united action in coalition with the different antiwar , solidarity and peace and non-violent organisations joining our
PEACE MARCH TO SHANNON AIRPORT as part of the 3 months initiative of the "World March for Peace and Non-violence" in Ireland and around the globe.

This march is organised by the World March for Peace and Non-violence and Shannonwatch group.

We are doing this to give out one strong united signal asking for a world without wars and without violence!

We stand for:

- Global nuclear disarmament

- Progressive and proportional reduction of conventional weapon

- Withdrawal of invading troops from occupied territories

- Renunciation by governments as the use of war as means to resolve conflicts

- Signing of non-aggression treaties between countries

- Rejecting all forms of violence such us : physical, sexual, racial, religious, economical and psychological violence.

Planned schedule for the peace march and forming the Living Nonviolence Sign:

12 noon : Arriving at Shannon Town Center and gathering our group (car park next to Lidl).
Preparing banners and flags for marching.

12.15: Short greetings: Krisztina and John

12.30 Leaving to march towards Shannon Airport.

1.30 Gathering at (small) roundabout before Shannon Airport (location of regular monthly Shannonwatch vigil).

2 Speeches (Krisztina and John )

2.15 Forming Living Non-violence Sign together at green area beside roundabout.

Continue the non-violence sign and singing, dancing and celebrating the World March and it's aims.

3-30 Walking back to Shannon Town Center

This means the airport will be even more dependent on US military traffic for it's survival. Expect even more intransigence from government and airport authorities in the face of of anti war activities.

If you truly want support for the cause (although not for the right reasons!!), I suggest you appeal to Dublin airport management / investors. They've been wanting to close down shannon to get it's business for themselves for years. They'd probably even donate money to the cause!!
