Year after year the parades are poorly attended and the speeches through megaphones are uninspiring regurgitations of the same stuff. Look to the continent, where Mayday parades are huge, with lots of banners, street theatre, floats (!) and lively music. You get occasional running battles with the police some places - but that's another story. |
