Saturday 7th March, 3pm till late, Galway Rowing Club,
behind the Court House on the banks of the Corrib.
8 pm. Frank Connolly will lead a debate: “Now is the time for the people of Ireland to take ownership and control of the natural resources (oil, gas, etc.) from the multi-nationals.”
Frank Connolly is well-known as the investigative journalist whose work has contributed to the establishment of two tribunals of inquiry – the Flood/Mahon Tribunal into planning corruption in Dublin and the Morris Tribunal into police corruption in Donegal.

4.30 pm. A celebration in honour of International Women’s Day:
featuring women in the struggle against the oil companies.
Erris women will talk about their experience under Shell siege.
Diana Traynor on Erris Archeology (hopefully).

· Angus Mitchell’s talk (given at the People’s Forum in Belmullet, 19th Jan., on Roger Casement’s connection with the Niger Delta and its early exploitation by the oil companies.

The whole event will (we hope) be a relaxed family funday with singers & music etc
