Amid a surge in autism diagnoses, Arthur Mann found a friend's children detached and glued to their screens. Is it not more likely, he wonders, that we are suffering from an epidemic of disastrous middle-class parenting?

In Germany the Left doesn't need to beat Right-wing parties, it can just ban them for supposedly being a bit too much like Hitler. Eugyppius is increasingly convinced the AfD will face a potential ban in the coming months.

PETA's schools programme tells children that animals are "just like us" and it's wrong to have pets and zoos. An organisation that has likened farming to the Holocaust has no place in the classroom, says Brian Monteith.

"War IS Peace": Video Screened On The Israeli Embassy

category international | anti-war / imperialism | feature author Thursday January 22, 2009 20:00author by Footage: Al J / Edit: C&C Group Report this post to the editors

Irish Artists Fire Back At The Israeli Embassy:
'World War III will be a guerrilla information war with
no division between military and civilian participation."
                   - Marshall McLuhan

This video is made up of a list of the signatories of an open letter compiled to support the demand that the Israeli ambassador to Ireland be expelled 'until such time as there is a complete end to Israel's war on Gaza and its continued slaughter of the Palestinian people.'

The list is combined with Creative Commons footage from Gaza released onto the web by Al Jazeera. The Al Jazeera TV channel continues to update their Creative Commons page with more recent footage from Gaza.

It was projected onto the exterior of the Israeli embassy in Dublin on the evening of the 19th of January as a response to a 'PR attack' on Ireland by an Israeli Minister fresh over here from overseeing the slaughter in Gaza.

Those involved in the collection of signatories, the action at the Israeli embassy, and the production of the video would appreciate any efforts made by others who support this action to spread this video through their blogs, websites and online social networks.

Text of Letter

12-18 January 2009

We, the undersigned, are united in seeking the immediate expulsion of the Israeli ambassador to Ireland, Dr Zion Evrony. We believe the ambassador must leave Ireland until such time as there is a complete end to Israel's war on Gaza and its continued slaughter of the Palestinian people.

Palestinian doctor Ezzeldeen Abu al-Aish was giving Israel's Channel 10 his daily account from inside the war zone in Gaza when three of his daughters were killed in an Israeli attack.

In his report, he called for help as his house was attacked.

Al Jazeera's Roza Ibragimova reports.

Eamonn, Leah, C+C (and anyone else involved),

Well done on this; it was a great idea and very, very well executed. It was also quite a task to gather so many signatures (I know from my own efforts to get some on the list!) and then put the video together and present it in such a professional manner.

I've added it to my blog, hopefully some of my 30 (ish) readers will add their names and add it to their blogs, and their readers might add their names.

Again, well done.
Mark.

Thanks to all who are helping.

Must note thanks to Audioterrorists and friends for travelling a long way at short notice with Generator on Monday evening.

One Excerpt: "Attorney Michael Sefarad, who specialized in international law, said that we must remember that the entire mechanism of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague was put in place after World War II and the Holocaust, at the Jewish people's demand.

Sefarad believes that Israel grossly violated international law during the Gaza campaign, maybe even to the extant of committing war crimes: "The hope is that we will be the ones to seek out those responsible and bring them to justice. If that is not done, then an international organization should do it, otherwise the atrocities will continue."

Yuli Tamir does not " oversee" slaughter in Gaza.
She is a member of peace now, and a couragous
educator who has drawn the wrath of right wingers in
both America and Israel for including the term " Nabka " in
Israeli school textbooks.

Try to fight another fighter.

""I spelled this out clearly to the Israeli ambassador when we met on January 6 and the Israeli Education Minister, whom I met this morning. The frank exchange of views through such contacts is the essence of diplomatic activity. The Israeli ambassador has thoroughly and professionally carried out his duties, just as our ambassador in Tel Aviv has reported thoroughly on Israeli thinking and actively carried out his consular functions. I regard calls for the withdrawal or expulsion of ambassadors as misguided and counterproductive."

From a real dinger of a right wing article: http://www.independent.ie/opinion/analysis/ireland-rema....html

Yes, she is. Is it your point that there should be no Israeli government ministers, or that there should be a different Israeli government for her to be a minister of ? If the latter, how would she be more effective than as a counterweight to the extreme right wing which she currently is ?

The article in the Independent by Mr Arnold is indeed disappointing journalism.

The propaganda stunt by Israel's Minister for Education worked with him.

The State of Israel may have weapons of mass destruction, white phosphorus, DIME bombs and other inhuman weaponry, but it never gives up on propaganda, even - or especially - lying propaganda.

The State of Israel cannot be allowed to perpetrate or get away with massive crimes in Gaza because of this unrelenting propaganda blitz.
