Jump To Comment: 1 2If Ireland was unified without Unionist on board we would witness a repeat of the 30 years of armed struggle in Northern Ireland, this time with the Irish Army and Gardai under attack from a loyalist and unionist insurgency and bloody conflict between loyalists and nationalists communities and bombing campaigns in Dublin by loyalist separatists.
Democracy must be respected, and as soon as there is a majority in favour of unification, unification must take place. Fear of violence should not be put in the way.
It will then be up to us all to show that we can create and sustain an Ireland of equals.
