The war on fertiliser has come to Britain, says Chris Morrison, with Labour imposing a 'carbon' import duty on the farming essential. Not content with making Brits colder and poorer, they are making us hungrier.

Keir Starmer and Ed Miliband are at COP29 to "show leadership on the climate challenge". The trouble is, says Ben Pile, no one is following, and the U.K. is just looking more and more ridiculous.

Kris Finnerty returns to wow again at Lonergans

After stepping "into the ring with the big boys" witht the launch of his debut CD, Chisty is Dead, singer songwriter Kris Finnerty is delighted to return to Lonergans of Clonmel where he previously played during the Clonmel Junction Festival.

Kris will play in Lonergans on Sunday 16th December 2007 at 8.30pm.

Admission is €10 and 77c from each ticket sold will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland in honour of Kris' two cousins who have this disease.

This is an exciting event for Kris and for Seven Towers.

Kris Finnerty
Kris is originally from Fassaroe in Bray, Co Wicklow and is well known in that area as a musician, formerly under the name of Chisty. This CD is a celebration of Kris’ musical career to date and stepping stone to the greater success he will inevitably achieve.

"It is difficult in one way to describe Kris' type of music with full accuracy. It is, on the one hand, classic folk, playing as he does alone with his acoustic guitar and harmonica. However, it is also simultaneously modern and edgy. What I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, is that Kris is captivating. I have been in pubs where he has played and on hearing him sing an instant and spontaneous silence descended among the patrons and all eyes remained on Kris for the duration of his set, breaking only to clap and cheer."
Seven Towers MD, Sarah Lundberg

One song and you’re interested, the second you’re hooked. Kris Finnerty has a musical way with words.
Peter Grogan, Dublin City FM

“With launching this album, Kris Finnerty is throwing his hat into the ring with the ‘big boys’ . . . He will be called on to deliver and I don’t think he’ll be found wanting”.
Eamon Carr

“. . . features some lovely mellow acoustic based folky sounds, the album comes very beautifully packaged in a large format card sleeve with booklet and two foldout posters featuring sleevenotes and lyrics”.
