The public's indifference to art has never been greater. No wonder, says Ferro: it's all just tired Left-progressive politics by another means. But the fightback for real art that moves the human soul has begun.

Not until Leo XIV did we have a picture of a holy man staring at an ice cube with his hand on it, respectfully gazing as if imagining the whisky that could go with such a rock, says Prof James Alexander.

Campaign to Save Tara had its weekly meeting on the Hill today. Some
members of Tarawatch were on the Hill, they wanted to attend and speak
about the legal challenge launched on Wednesday.
The Campaign agreed to give the background to the case and then
Tarawatch were given time to outline their point of view. They offered
to have their legal team contact and help the legal team working with
the litigant, Michael Canney. It was agreed that this offer would be
conveyed to Michael by a member of CST who would then pass it onto the
lawyers. This is a matter for them only as CST is not taking the case.
The matter of cooperation between the two groups was mentioned but not
discussed.
The Tarawatch members then left to allow CST to continue with their
usual meeting.
I just arrived back home from spending two days In the camps on the Hill of Tara and Rath Lugh. I was shocked when I saw`the destruction that has been done to Rath Lugh as part of the road-construction scheme. But the fight is far from over and lost. A victory through a combination of direct and legal action still is a very strong possibility.
Today we had a joint meeting on the Hill between TaraWatch, Campaign to save Tara, and the various vigil and direct action groups from the tipi and from Rath Lugh. The atmosphere was extremely posiitve , and so was the outcome of the joint meeting. TaraWatch proposed a closer co-operation between the groups on the upcoming legal challenge. The proposal enjoyed the support of all people present at the meeting.
In the uk they are trying to perseve and return historic landscapes....
"On 11 May 2004, the 12-week Public Inquiry into the Highways Agency’s proposals for the A303 at Stonehenge ended.
The National Trust supports the objective of a road tunnel to remove the visual intrusion and noise associated with the A303, helping to re-unite the Stones with the rich historic landscape surrounding them and restoring Stonehenge to a place of tranquillity.
However, at the Public Inquiry we objected to the detailed proposals and are unconvinced that the proposed 2.1km bored tunnel for the A303 adequately fulfils this objective and safeguards the World Heritage Site’s significance and special spirit of place.
At the Inquiry, we presented evidence to show that far from delivering the declared objectives of the scheme, the proposed 2.1km tunnel compromised them and that this could be avoided by lengthening the tunnel to at least 2.9km. "
