Shell Headquarters @ Leeson street bridge currently occupied by protesters inside and on roof. Solidarity urgently required, numbers needed outside - PLS FWD-Solidarity!
Just got off the phone to an pccupier, they are happy enough inside but are ery in need of numbers outside in case there is an attempt to remove them..
Solidarity is strength!
Short audio update saying that a large number of Special Branch (secret police) and public order unit have arrived and tried to intimidate supporters outside.
Shell Occupation update
Solidarity still needed down here.
Unfolding the banner
the message
The occupation ended at 1.30 with the 10 occupiers leaving the building and the roof. There were no arrests, apparently the Gardai calmed down once some Gardai who were used to protests arrived on the scene.
A few photos on a bright day in late March
Banners on the roof, placards in the door
Reflecting on the great gas rip off
How many weeks were we staying?
Leaving the building
Coming down off the roof
Well done Dublin.
The Achilles Hell of the Bellanaboy Project is Statoil and the Norwegians' sense of fair play.
The Norwegian Embassy is in your back yard.
Need I say more?
I sick to the teeth of talk of norway being the loose link in the chain. The norgweigen government are not saints or socialists, if there's money to be made they'll stick to it.
From reading here and listening to the audio it's clear this action wasn't to do with the Shell To Sea campaign but rather to raise interest in the sell off of our natural resources.
addressing the sell off of irish resources is one of the aims of the shell to sea campaign, which would be one of the reasons that your namesake isn't too happy with the shell to sea campaign and his media outlets are so eager to see shell succeed
"The Norwegian Embassy is in your back yard."
^^^^^^^^^
they might be getting lonely around there, Shell HQ. is one step off putting couches in the lobby for S2S.
"Solidarity is strength"
Then I think these photos show how weak solidarity is for the dublin shell to sea campaigners............
For an entirely secret action organised with no advance publicity looks like they got 15-20 within an hour or two by the photos -
An excellent turn out and reflective of widespread support still to me!
More action lets take it to shell!
A. C.
I bolted up there on my 2pm work lunch break and missed y'all. Great action, keep on keeping on.
Your actions mean alot to us up here in Erris!!
