Immortal Technique

category dublin | arts and media | other press author Friday July 08, 2005 14:22author by Maria Desponges Report this post to the editors

A Fresh voice from Hip Hop.

There is a new fresh voice from Harlem, New York. His name is Immortal technique. More than Hip Hop, I would say his music is poetry. Amazing voice, chilling lyrics and interesting tunes.

This guy is not afraid of speaking the truth is a country like America where you are considered anti-american if you do not agree with the "official line" on political issues. I will say no more. You can preview some of the songs on this website:

Screw Hip-Hop - here we have a dressed up lifestyle of crime, drug use, women-hating, and pro-violence merchandising that has condemned millions of black kids to a life of poverty in the ghetto.

And of course, it has it's tenured radicals to promote the cause: Professor Greggy of English at Syracuse University,:

Niggas...betta grab a seat
grab on ya d-ck as this bitch gets deep
Deeper than a p-ssy of a bitch 6 feet
stiff d-cks feel sweet in this little petite

to Immortal Technique you might understand that he is out to destroy the "dressed up lifestyle of crime, drug use, women-hating, and pro-violence merchandising that has condemned millions of black kids to a life of poverty in the ghetto."

He gives the ghetto (as well as white cube dwellers like me) a "hiphop" education about what is really happening in the world.

The brink of holy war, bottled up, like a miscarriage
Embedded correspondents don't tell the source of the tension
And they refuse to even mention, European intervention
Or the massacres in Jenin, the innocent screams
U.S. manufactured missles, and M-16's
Weapon contracts and corrupted American dreams
Media censorship, blocking out the video screens
A continent of oil kingdoms, bought for a bargain
Democracy is just a word, when the people are starvin'
