Reform repainted the political landscape on Friday, but by the evening the BBC had already replaced the story at the top of the headlines with something about Harry moaning. Will the BBC ever get its priorities right?

The White House has told the american people and various diplomats that the decision by Burlesconi to withdraw troops from Iraq starting in September has nothing to do with Calipari's death.

Italians mobilised more than five million people to protest against the illegal invasion of Iraq.

They walked regularly under the rainbow flag of peace from the castle of the angel in Rome through the streets.

The disobedientti movement stopped trains carrying troops. The left and liberals and church mobilised.

That was two years ago.

Then on St Joseph's day, Bush went into Babalon.

In the meantime over 60 Italian servicemen and women have been killed. The latest one died yesterday.

In the meantime two Italian aid workers of a peace group were held for a long time and eventually released.

In the meantime many other Italian journalists were kidnapped, ransoms were paid, some released, some not.

Italy and the Italians suffered one and all as a result of Silvio Burlosconi's decision to support the "coalition of the willing" and offer military assistance to the illegal invasion of Iraq which sought to replace the Saddam regime by over-ruling the UN, trashing the findings of the UNs arms and atomic investigators, breaking international law, "not controlling oil", for what?

"to help democracy emerge"
"to demonise Islam by blaming the Iraqi people for the 911 event".

as the italian press see it today-

Meanwhile Burlosconi has come under criticism for announcing the troop withdrawl on TV rather than in the parliament. Surely a sign of his disrespect for the institutions of state and government. It might now be time to look back over the last 3 years "put Burlosconi through the indymedia search engine" and see his disregard for the lives of Italians, his preference for bribery, his unwarranted control of broadcast media, his coalitions of the wicked at home and abroad, his plastic surgery.

all of it.

There will now be more Oil and more Smack routes and more unhappy militants for the kid soldiers of the USA to deal with.

"The world is surely a safer place".

has told americans (and the world) that the coalition of the willing is not disintegrating.
it is possible some americans believe him. its quite probably most americans dont care. it is very very unlikely that more than a few thousand people globally however do. Which is sort of what you get for being a matilda who told such lies and cried wolf so many times. So as you reflect on the latest appointment suggestion of the all powerful USA to the world bank "mr Wolfowitz" think about this young lad's piece, he's from Harvard, the DCU of Massacheussets where everyone is a democrat.

If Mr Bush wasn't responsible for the increase in innocent deaths, the provocation of fundamentalism of all types, the increase in Oil prices, and so, it would actually be comical, this popular "christian- one of us- ordinary guy- president" in the eyes of Americans, who is quite magnificently running the US into the sand bar of time, and simultaneously giving a whole new generation of Europeans a sense of common purpose, pacifism and maturity.

bloody magnificent.
happy St Patrick's day Mr President.
you're doing more to destroy the political and cultural might of the USA than Breshnev ever thought possible your legacy will be quite something.

Silvio isn't sure if his TV appearance, was the truth.

This is clever of the snake, very clever, and explains why he didn't make the withdrawl announcement legally binding as a Parliamentary statement or open to proper scrutiny in the legislature.

He owns TV stations and uses them to subvert public opinion, and you rarely get to see the truth on any of his channels.

The Italian media is the most compromised in Europe. the 2004 report saw it share most indexes with the Aznar regime. (& his current (though thankfully very rarely seen now) TV caricture as pinnochio in a darth vadar costume means something doesn't it?)

He loves trotting out his plastic surgery and appearing younger.
http://www.indymedia.ie/newswire.php?story_id=67887

Blair/Bush have told him to stay.
http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=4279518

He didn't actually get any increase in the opinion polls so it wasn't worth the effort.

Oh well.
