offsite link Pope Francis?s Liberalism is Not Why Young People Are Returning to Church Wed Apr 30, 2025 11:00 | Dr Roger Watson
As a Catholic, Prof Roger Watson is sure Francis was appointed Pope for a reason. It's just that he's damned if he can figure out what it was. Certainly, it's not his liberalism that's drawn young people back to church.

Fianna Fail's sinful spending spree

category national | politics / elections | opinion/analysis author Saturday February 14, 2004 13:13author by John McDermott - R.R.F.P.(remove fianna fail party)author address Ashtown,Dublin Report this post to the editors

My picture will be in the world press just in time for the elections

There must be a united coalition of all groups to defeat the common enemy.

If every parent living on this island were to bring a sick child, today, to a specialist hospital, such as ‘Our Lady’s Crumlin’ for urgent treatment and compare the shortfall of funds ,staff, and medical equipment, under which our doctors daily tend to the nations children;- with the sinful, nay, criminal, extravagance of the just announced cynical, pre-election, public relations exercise of Bertie Ahearn’s hosting of the upcoming European-American summit meeting in this country;-I truly believe there would be a revolution on our streets. If payback time comes not from the electorate , next June,we are truly lost as a spiritually moral , dignified ,and caring race of people.
This was not the nation for which Padraic Pearse, James Connolly, and others, made the supreme sacrifice.
I believe There is now an onus on responsable politicians of all parties to come together in some kind of umbrella grouping /alliance/co-operation to strengthen the opposition to the incumbent Fianna Fail Party.
A beginning ,for example could be the incorporation of a common slogan on posters and literature from all parties.
An example might be, the phrase; ’FIANNA FAIL HURT THE YOUNG,THE OLD,THE SICK AND THE HANDICAPPED’( giving the various reasons for this in detail;,rocketing property prices, stealth bin taxes, incompetent hospital management, elimination of wheelchair accessible taxis, etc.take your pick .They are all there.!) A superb irony if the were made to fall on their own sword(old election slogan)."hoist with their own petard"

At the moment there are no strong positive indications that a new umbrella government will be any better than FF. They will still be using the same out-dated political thoughts and principles.

Only just found out now. FF decided not to tell anybody so that he'd have a happy receptive audience comprised only of Fianna Fail members and their co-conspirators
