Net Zero is the new Brexit, "where Parliament is so hopelessly out of touch with the country", Nigel Farage has said. Michael Deacon agrees: as people realise the true cost of eco-zealotry they are turning against it.

'Green ethics' are imploding, says Ben Pile. Economic realities are forcing the question: is it 'ethical' to bankrupt yourself? Is it 'ethical' to make energy too expensive for people to use?

[Dublin] Fundraiser: IPSC Annual Sponsored Walk on 11th October

category dublin | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Monday September 28, 2015 14:01author by IPSC - IPSCauthor email info at ipsc dot ieauthor phone 01 8727798 Report this post to the editors

Dún Laoghaire-Dalkey Coast Road

This year the IPSC Sponsored Hill Walk will take place on Sunday 11th October 2015. This year we will be trekking along the Coast Road from Dún Laoghaire to Dalkey, via the Dalkey Quarry. We will be setting off from the seaside side of the Peoples’ Park in Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin at 1pm and finishing up with a meal and some liquid sustenance in Dalkey. The walk will take us along Dubli’s stunning south coast, and up to the former Quarry at Dalkey. In total, the walk is about 10 kilometers.

The last eight years’ walks have been enormous fun and raised a lot of money for the IPSC, as well as letting people get to know each other a little better and have a bit of craic together.

If you are interested in coming along and getting sponsorship (there is no minimum sponsorship fee!) then please email info@ipsc.ie with your details, put ‘Sponsored Walk’ in the subject title and we will send you on a sponsorship card and any further relevant info. Alternatively, you can phone us on (01) 8727798.

How to get there and back:

A number of Dublin Bus routes go to Dún Laoghaire – see them here. The easiest option is probably to get the DART train service to Dún Laoghaire DART station. The People’s Park is to the left as you exit the DART station (map here).

What to bring:

Everyone should bring a packed lunch, enough to drink, warm and waterproof clothing, hiking/walking boots. The walk is not difficult, but participants should have a reasonable level of fitness. People will also be required to sign an indemnity form prior to the start of the walk. If you have any inquiries specific to the walk (as opposed to sponsorship etc) please contact Pat on 085 7432293.

We hope to hear from interested people soon!
