New Conflict Resolution Project Launched

category monaghan | eu | press release author Wednesday October 03, 2012 15:24author by Expac - Future Resolutions Report this post to the editors

Conflict resolution project to use Information Technology to help disseminate its message

The Monaghan based Expac company recently launched its new Future Resolutions project with a presentation in the groups’ office. Future Resolutions is a training programme which draws on the experience of a previous course, Conflicts of Interest.

A new and innovative feature of the course will be its use of the Internet to provide participants with an opportunity to watch on video, talks delivered by expert speakers. Project Coordinator Oliver Corr said at the launch that ‘this use of digital technology will be the beginning of the delivery of e-learning by Expac and is an exciting development for all concerned’.

The Future Resolutions project will focus on providing opportunities for positive encounter between disparate individuals and communities north and south. This will involve dialogue between participants and expert speakers and will take place both in what are deemed to be safe and neutral spaces and also, by way of ice breaking, in settings where one might not normally expect to find some of the speakers.

This is a project supported by the European Union’s PEACE III Programme managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by the Pobal / Community Relations Council Consortium
