The United Left Alliance will have a launch meeting in Killarney on Saturday 4th June @ Malton Hotel, 2PM

Speakers feature: JOE HIGGINS TD of the Socialist Party

and Kieran Allen of People Before Profit

The United Left Alliance was formed shortly before the last General Election and currently has 5 TDs in the Dail.

This public meeting represents a rare opportunity to hear Kerryman Joe Higgins at first hand.

The ULA is an alliance of left wing groups and individuals. It is opposed to the government bailouts and the slash and burn policies which are only making the crisis worse. It rejects the so-called solutions to the economic crises based on slashing public expenditure, welfare payments and workers’ pay. There can be no just or sustainable solution to the crisis based on the capitalist market. Instead we favour democratic and public control over resources so that social need is prioritised over profit.

The ULA is committed to building a mass left alternative to unite working people, whether public or private sector, Irish or migrant, with the unemployed, welfare recipients, pensioners and students in the struggle to change society for the better.

(Note: This meeting is repeated later in the day at Tralee Grand Hotel @ 4pm).
