A mast, two quarries, two power plants, a sports venue and turf-cutting Residents of Annascaul, Co. Kerry clebrated last week when Threefold/Tetra abandoned its plans to site a mast in the village. While An Bord Pleanala had given permission for the mast locals stopped work on it in mid-August when the foundation was filled up after which they occupied an area outside the site for several weeks. (Kerryman (sic) 23/12/09, p. 21).
An Bord Pleanala has upheld North Tipperary County Council's decision to refuse planning permission for retention of a gravel quarry at Park, Moneygall, Co. Tipperary after A & R Poole Ltd. appealed the county council decision. (Tipperary Star 24/12/09, p. 9).
Sligo Anglers Association's appeal to An Bord Pleanala against permission granted by Sligo County Council to Cemex Ltd. to discharge quarry waste water into a stream at Aghamore, Co. Sligo, has been upheld. (Sligo Weekender 22/12/09, p. 10).
