One of the many problems with mainstreaming torture is that the rest of the feddoms guaranteed by the U.S.constitution become quite expendable!
Copies of Harry Browne's "Hammered by the Irish" will be available at the vigil for 10 euro.
The book will be retailing at Tower Records for 12 euro by Tuesday of this week. Also presently
available from Dublin Food Co-op and Afri office Phibsborough at 12 euro.
It pretty much costs you 20 euro (including postage/5 day delivery) when ordering it online
from AK (san Francisco) and www.counterpunch.org The book is also available on Amazon but
I'm not sure how much it costs from there.........so if your passing the vigil and want this book this
could be a bargain basement price!
A "Hammered by the Irish" gig will be taking place at the Lower Deck, Portobello this Thursday Oct 9th.
night 7.30pm-11.30 pm. Entry is by donation-money will go to an impriosned U.S. soldier presently
jailed for refusing to deploy to Iraq (google Courage to Resist website fro background on such
military resisters!) and a Kiwi ploughshares crew facing the courts for deflating a spy base dome!
Info on Thusday's gig on this link
http://www.indymedia.ie/article/89067
Leaflets and posters promoting the gig will be available from the gpo Monday vigil. If you can swing by and take a few to
hand to friends, or put up at your workplace or campus, that would be grand (beware the DCC crackdown on political
literature under the leaflet act that can prosecute venues advertised on said materiaols!)
