Trust in the BBC has been collapsing for years. For many, it finally died during Covid when the national broadcaster took on the role of chief cheerleader for the lockdowns, no dissent allowed. A reckoning is long overdue.

It's been a very long time since the BBC even pretended to be impartial on climate change, says Chris Morrison. The truth is, decades of crying 'Fire!' in the climate theatre have left the BBC with net zero credibility.

COP30 is Trump's Eisenhower moment, says Dr Tilak Doshi. Just as Eisenhower's Suez intervention ended Europe's pretensions to empire, Trump's energy realism is ending Brussels's grandiloquent claims to climate leadership.

Mandala Painting Workshop

category dublin | arts and media | event notice author Wednesday June 25, 2008 12:22author by Francesca - Cultivate Centreauthor email francesca at cultivate dot ie Report this post to the editors

Art meets Meditation

This two-day workshop will introduce you to the ancient art of Mandala, a painting and a meditation technique that allows you to create an image representing your inner self. This course is for those who paint and wants to break known patterns, as well as for those who have not yet got involved in painting and want to learn.

Based on a Tibetan technique, Mandala painting uses forms and colours to represent our energy or the process we are going through in the moment when we paint. Through the symmetry of its structure, it manages to create peace of mind and a space of relaxation within from which what is unconscious or hidden can emerge in all its beauty. Working with mandalas means working with the energy of our centre and its manifestation in the world. Mandala painting is also a way of opening up to our creativity, a particular quality everyone has, and that is not only connected to our ability to draw and paint, but also to the capacity to create our life moment after moment in joy and freedom. Throughout the two days we will have the opportunity to experience different meditation techniques, and quite a lot of painting, as well as moments of exchange and sharing!
