Sound The Alarm On Climate Change In Mayo

Join Church bells throughout the county at 2pm on December 8th to Sound the Alarm.

Churches throughout Co. Mayo will be ringing their bells at 2pm to signify the 2 degrees of Climate Change is too much. Stop Climate Chaos Mayo are calling on the people of Mayo to make some noise at 2pm to show that we want to take action against Climate Change and we call on our elected representatives to do the same.

In Castlebar their will be a drumming circle on Market Sq. from 1.30pm to call people to 'Sound the Alarm' at 2pm. Everyone is invited to 'Sound the Alarm' at 2pm on Market sq., Castlebar with the drummers and in unison with the church bells of Castlebar. Remember to bring something to make some noise. Also try to arrive on a sustainable mode of transport and if possible bring it to the gathering, we need to show that the people of Mayo are looking for safe alternative modes of non car transport.

Mayo TDs, county & town councillors will be present to accept signatures from the people of Mayo calling on them to 'incorporate greenhouse gas emission reducing strategies into existing and all future development plans for County Mayo'

An exhibition on Global warming and its effect on the world both globally and locally will be in the County library Castlebar from Dec 8 th until Christmas.

On Tuesday December 11th at 8pm Andy Wilson of the Sustainability Institute will be giving a public talk in the county library on Global Warming and Climate Change and the implications for County Mayo.

How about we stop building the huge SHell gas refinery in Erris?

Or is that too- hands on? Maybe t'would be better to ring bells, play drums, dance , sign petitions etc etc...

Hopefully there will be a good turnout by Rossport Protesters over there.
In Dublin, Tara supporters will march at 2pm through the city along with other concerned groups.
We only have one planet and we are all in it together, no spoof.
