CELTIC BARRIO at Climate Action Camp!!

The camp for Climate Action will start 26th Aug - 4th Sep, in Megawatt valley which is the home of Drax power station nr. Leeds and Selby. This is Britains largest C02 emmissions factory and we plan to shut it down!!
We're hoping to unite folk in ireland and scotland to set up a celtic barrio, which will have a meeting space, kitchen space and entertainment.
The main aim of the camp is for info and action to tackle the causes of climate change.
If you are interested in coming along or can help in any other way please contact: scotland@climatecamp.org.uk

This is a call out to all irish activists or crews
If you are interested please contact scotland@climatecamp.org.uk

Melting ice caps, flooded communities, heat waves and hurricanes, freak weather and the greatest injustice of the 21st century......it's time to wake up to the realities of climate change! It's here it's going to get worse before it gets better and governments and corporations aren't goin to fix it for us.
It's time to do something about it: step out of line come together and turn our growing fears into positive action.

The camp for climate action will create grassroots solutions to climate change through action, education,net-working and skill sharing.
It will be a place for all kinds of people, ideas and levels of experience.
It will be a hub for everything from wind powered workshops and campaign up-dates to direct action against the worse offenders of the fossil fuel economy.
Powered by alternative energy, it will be a living demonstartion of practical solutions. It will be a chance for the diverse people and projects concerned with climate change to get together and start to make change happen.

Everyone is invited to be part of the running and setting up of the camp from orgainising food to dealing with recycling.
We are the camp. To get involved now check out the website for the details. www.climatecamp.org.uk

Bring it on! This Celt would prefer much more heat and sun.

We would have vineyards everywhere... the IFSC will be flooded. The Lansdown Road stadium will become the new harbour.... Limerick will be gone... Belfast too. Sounds much better already.

The port tunnel can be a submarine theme park (maybe by 2010).

Decentralisation will be a fact, not an option.

If we stopped using all carbon fuels in the morning and got back to our old-style Celtic sheep and goat economy, all the oil / coal / gas that exists will be used and burnt up by someone else. Global warming will happen regardless of Kyoto.

My advice - don't move to Holland.
