Dear friends, last night saw a magnificent response by the local residents who came out at the corner of Violet Street, Falls Road, against attacks on Filipino Nurses. Three to four hundred people came out in a united stand against the attacks

Dear friends, last night saw a magnificent response by the local residents who came out at the corner of Violet Street, Falls Road, against attacks on Filipino Nurses. Three to four hundred people came out in a united stand against the attacks. Within a very short time of the attacks local residents had drawn up their own leaflet and where going to their neighbours homes to distribute them, seeing many of them coming out also and lending a hand. Last night’s turnout and atmosphere of solidarity I, and I presume all who attended, left one feeling inspired. While we gathered against the attacks carried out by a mindless minority, the community though in their hundreds responded as one in an untied stand and voice.

At the rally, when a member of the Filipino community had finished speaking, amongst the loud applause some one shouted out, 'you are very welcome' this to more loud cheers and applause. Another speaker, who is Chair of THE SCA, a fifty plus year resident of the local area, and a WARN supporter and activist, spoke of how the Filipino people were the community, that 'they are our community', he said, 'and deserve our protection as a community'. It was also raised that accommodation has been sought for the victims of the attack as so to be re - housed back into the community. Amongst the hundreds in attendance were also many members of the Filipino community - the West Belfast community.

The Chair finished of by thanking all in attendance and for persons to get involved in the local West Belfast ARN group.

This was a wonderful response which seen a local community and local residents from the onset pro active in dealing with the issue. A clear message was sent out that Racism will not be tolerated in the local area and that the community not only stands shoulder to shoulder with the Filipino people who are part of the community, but the community will also protect and defend them. This story would warm ones heart. Those people have shown the way forward. The Falls rd community has been tortured and demonised for decades, yet again they have shown their critics what they are truly made of.
Congratulations.

The Falls Road community are very much to be commended for showing opposition to racist thugs. Yes this community which has endured years of demonisation by the pro-British red-top media have yet again proved their commitment to the principles of freedom, equality, social justice and solidarity

They are an example to us all.

Richard if you come in peace and do not intend to reside on top of Divis Tower or in a cosy sangar armed to the teeth then you would be most welcome. One note of caution however you may wish to lose the silly Brummie accent.

I am an english person, who is accepted on the falls, as nazis keep anonymously calling me,i'm an ugly as fuck, rough as fuck, paki/slitty eyed bitch,

I''ve had my skull fractured, my jaw and nose broken by brave nazi bully boys in the past, and i have got a brummie accent, yes i'm as a rough as fuck simple mixed race brutess, and proud of it.

At least i'm not a squaddy, I'm not a militarised T.A/Adolf idoliser, i'm not a coward, i didn't arse lick and share a stage with Johnny Adair in the past, I do not practise the favoured martial art of nazis like Noonan Tit -chew/tai chai, and i'm not a snooty social snob.

I maybe ugly rough as fuck paki as nazis call me but what i have got is a heart of pure GOLD, a brave indomitable heart, and a devotion to St martin de porres patron saint of the poor, not the rich, patron saint of orphans and cleaners.

I use to childmind two korean children, both of whom were black belts in taekwando, this was back in 1999, although they got a lot of racist hassle in snooty middle class areas of south belfast, and the upper ormeau, they were both accepted warmly in the holylands and lower ormeau area of south belfast.

They fitted in easily because of their footballing and fighting skills and they preffered to hang about with some of the poorest and roughest families in the holylands and lower ormeau, where they were respected even back in 1999, which just goes to show the poor are more civilised and have more manners than the rich.
