Unionists Recruit in UCD

category national | miscellaneous | opinion/analysis author Thursday September 23, 2004 15:07author by DUP Supporter Report this post to the editors

It’s great to see the Ulster Unionist Party recruiting in UCD – or so I thought until I realised the Union Jack bedazzled stand was actually that of Young Fine Gael!

I guess they’re really taking Bruton’s comments about reaching out to England and re-joining the Commonwealth seriously!

I agree wholeheartedly that membership of the Labour Party (and support for coalition with FG...) does disqualify one from the 'left'. Tell that to the 'UCD left'.

author by kintamapublication date Sun Sep 26, 2004 01:40author address author phone Report this post to the editors

a fair point . I suspect young Rabbitte will be keen on coalition with FG as it will, through the good works of the Reform Movement , allow him the prize of membership of the Britisn Commonwealth. a day that would no doubt make him just as proud as John Brutal when he met a member of the military wing of the Windsor family.

Maybe, after all Labour were in coalition with FG on a number of occasions. But since these people are members of the Labour Party they can hardly be called "left", can they?

author by UCDerpublication date Sat Sep 25, 2004 22:11author address author phone Report this post to the editors

rumour has it that many of the so-called 'radicals' in the UCD Labour Party fully support going into government with FG

Union flag and a blue shirt it says it all about young Fíne Gael.

On reflection, incorrect inflection does not merit genuflection.

Hey man,

I'm back in my final year now at NUI Galway. If you need to put me on ice, I'm sure any two bit hitman will be able to track me down on campus-it is the least I deserve for slagging you in the past!

Hell, you can pay the gorillas that act as door 'men' at the college bar to give me a good oul' hammerin! One of them was looking at my id and he looked at my name-it is officially spelt with a 'G', but he pronounced it like 'G' sounds in the word 'golf', instead of 'g' as in' 'genuflect'. ( the movement I demand of those in my presence).

Every single Dutch person I met never made that mistake.Unfortunatly, though, they did not genuflect for me, either.

The great thing about coming back is the fact that having smoked so much actual real weed, I have no interest in scoring skanger hash. Which means I have being having actual lucid dreams at night. This has not happened in years, because I have been a pot head for some time now.
With this return of this great gift, I too might become an ipsipissmus.

Nice to hear from you again, chap. Stay in Europe, though, for sanity's sake. People on this island are wayyy too up their own ass. This fact is not confined just to Mammy Harney and the clones she has spawned from her breast milk. Everyone her feels it is their duty to become like a west Singaporean version of those robotic unison creatures from Star Trek( not a Trekkie, thus my ignorance.) Barcelona is the place to be an ipsipissmus.

All the best,
jeff

Just a thought. Is the guy in the blue shirt behind the desk displaying some new nazi-esque salute to a new found brother signing a non-committal interest circular on the table in front of him? Perhaps this is a new signal of Fine Gael's attitude to embracing all in a pan-european state. Hande Hocht! Zey vill all vote for us!

The flags they show are showing their true patriotism of their party;
The Spanish flag shows their Blueshirt wing as of their link to Franco in the Spanish Civil War, and the Union Jack show their West British flank. And the Greek one shows...well....yeh...that theyre all gay.

sometimes like any good peice of binary I just dissappear and then when you least expect it I come back. [joke]

Geographically I'm still in Barcelona.

(As for here on the imc ireland site)- I'm mostly over in the "other press" section now, Jeff. Since my regular contributions are not technically "of irish domestic interest" we can free up space on the newswire for local stories. You can check latest comments or use the search engine as usual. or go browse-
http://www.indymedia.ie/newswire.php?type=otherpress

And I'm spending more time "off the indymedia network" writing and -rewriting stuff- for a whole bunch of new media counter culture related sites as some day you realise there's enough fertilizer in your favourite garden, and "the work" must still be done in other places and other languages for other people.

¿R U still in Amsterdam?

MEIN GOTT! They have one also, at UCD. Read the protocols of the Elders of Zion. It actually predicts that the Jews will set up a secret society, well, it will pretend not to be, but anyway, they will set up a society at UCD.( Roll 'conspiratorial' Hammer Horror music!)

(Note to kneejerk p.c-ers, both right and left; I am being ironic. That is spelt I-R-O-N-I-C.

I am letting you all in on this piece of info, to ensure that

a) Brendan O' Connor does not 'SLAM' Indymedia as being a cover for combat 18 in the next issue of the Sindo

b) I don't get dirty looks from people at the next Reclaim the Streets party.

It is important that I do this, because there are a lot of rude, and dumb people on this island, myself being no exception.

Hey, where is ipsipi/iosaf these days?

I can only clearly see one national flag - the union jack!

Guess i must be myopic!

Maybe I should join Fine Gael, so!!!!!

Ah I get it now , sorry lads, so THATS where the thirty extra seats are going to come from!

my God they have the flags of many European countries there...
Is this the Spainish civil war again with everyone throwing their two cents in...no..wait...'DUP' is just some muppet sh*t stiring,
I'll bet he never gets over his phobia of the Union Jack - very 2004

They have a Greek flag there also- it must be The Serbian Radical Party, showing their affinity with their Orthodox brothers, spewing hatred against the Turks. March on the River Drina!
