New Blog Launched: University in Crisis

Check out the newly launched University in Crisis blog, keeping people up to date on the neo-liberal university and struggles against it.

Those who have control of the university have, reluctantly or enthusiastically, been leading the way in reducing education and research to the neoliberal agenda.

This tendency is not limited to the cuts in public funding or the re-introduction of fees brought on by the fiscal crisis. Nor is it limited to Ireland. In Europe and beyond, students, researchers and lecturers have been building struggles against the enclosure of knowledge, fighting for an equal, free and open education for everyone.

This site aims to record, inform and connect those involved in this common struggle. We will have posts on transformations in the university, including fees, funding, research and teaching etc. We will also have all the latest news on struggles to 'liberate' the university both here and abroad.

Bloggers will include student activists as well as lecturers and researchers.
