For the first time in the history of the Irish republic there are more
female trade union members than male. Despite this, with few exceptions the
most senior union positions are held by men.
Invited panellists from the trade union movement will be reflecting on the
impact of gender on women’s experiences and activism in trades unions. We’ll
be discussing how women can influence union policy, become active in their
trade unions and ensure that their concerns are heard by the wider union
movement.
