Mr. McBrearty said, ‘Our Network express strong disapproval of a proposed visit to Eason’s bookstore in Dublin by former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

RNU’s opposition stem from Blair’s responsibility in the brutal deaths of over one million people resulting from his imperialistic conquests of Afghanistan and Iraq and his justification of Britain’s protracted denial of Irish national sovereignty.

We would like to make it clear to fellow citizens that finance raised through sales of this book will be made available to the British Crown Forces, complicit in the occupation of Six Irish Counties'.

The Republican Network for Unity will be present to protest on Saturday in opposition to Blair's visit and would ask Republican's, Socialist's and all those opposed to seeing Ireland used as some kind of theatre to fund the British war machine to join us.

Lastly, we urge Eason’s to reconsider its invitation and not to encourage International War Criminals to visit Ireland in future’.
