Emergency Motion Passed

At last Monday’s monthly meeting of Donegal County Council an emergency motion proposed by independent Cllr Thomas Pringle was unanimously passed. “That Donegal County Council condemns the actions of the Israeli navy in attacking the humanitarian aid flotilla attempting to bring aid to the people of Gaza and calls on the government to expel the Israeli ambassador in protest”.

The motion was supported by all groupings on the council with each group Independents, Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, Labour and Sinn Fein speaking in favour of the motion and condemning outright this act of piracy by the Israelis.

At the end of the debate a minutes silence was held in memory of those who died in the commando attack.
