To officially launch the CIT cumann of Ógra Shinn Féin

The CIT cumann of Ógra Shinn Féín will be showing Terry George's 1996 film 'Some Mothers Son' in an Spalpín Fánach at 8.30 this thursday. The launch will be preceded by short talks from Cllr Jonathan O'Brien, and Joe Lynch Ógra Shinn Féin National Exectuive, and CIT Ógra.

Based on the true story of the 1981 hunger strike in a British prison, in which IRA prisoner Bobby Sands led a protest against the treatment of IRA prisoners as criminals rather than as prisoners of war. The film focuses on the mothers of two of the strikers, and their struggle to save the lives of their sons.
