Coup impose effective military rule in Honduras and suspend human rights

On Sunday afternoon the de facto government suspended key constitutional guarantees including a right to close media outlets. Public gatherings are banned. The country is effectively in lockdown. There is a massive demonstration in support of President Zelaya organised for today. There are reports of people travelling from all over the country, in small groups to avoid the military checkpoints which ring the capital and block roads throughout the country.

At 5:35 am on Monday 28 September, the military raided the offices of Radio Globo kicked in the doors and took the station off the air. after a nationwide chain of de facto government announced that. ¨

5:50 am The military confiscated camera equipment. at Channel 36 and closed it down. They threatened the international team of journalists with detention.

8:15 am It was reported what there is a high police presence around the University, the meeting point of today’s march. The Police will not allow any concentration of people anywhere in the city.

9:30 am University staffs are lying down in front of the tanks and the police who threaten to evict them violently.
