Saturday the 23rd of May at 12 noon outside the hospital.
To whom it may concern
I am appealing to all campaign groups throughout Ireland to come and stand along side "Save Our Lady's Children's Hospital Campaign". on this Saturday the 23rd of May at 12 noon outside the hospital.
This is a matter that affects all parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, guardians and most importantly the children themselves.
Once again the Irish government and the HSE have decided to rip the heart out of our children's health care service by taking away vital services within our Lady's hospital. €9.6 million (deficit) is pittance compared to paying €60 million for a new bridge, millions on an e-voting system that is locked away in storage and not to mention the billions that has been handed over to the banks who have drained our country dry financially. I could continue on my list of the money wasting we have seen in Ireland over recent years but I am sure that you are all fully aware but bottom-line these cuts will result in
* closure of 25 bed of our children's beds
* possible closure of another ward
* reduced outpatients appointments 8,483 attendance,1,100 admissions
* Closing one theatre July -December
* closing 2 theatres for the summer months
* grant unpaid leave to interested staff for the summer months
* Temporary/agency contracts will cease
Again I will appeal to you to please come and stand along side us and to make one loud voice for our children and our children of the future
Kind regards
Teresa Shallow
