UN delegates boycott anti-racism speech

Delegates to the U.N anti-racism conference in Geneva walked out on Monday in protest at Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s address . The walkout by representatives from at least 30 countries happened within minutes of the start of President Ahmadinejad’s speech in which he equated Zionism with racism.

“Today, the human community is facing a kind of racism which has tarnished the image of humanity. In the beginning of the third millennium, the word Zionism personifies racism, that falsely resorts to religion and abuses religious sentiments to hide hatred...”
