Press Release

A debut album by new Irish band The Truth has won remarkable acclaim from Irish film director and writer Declan Cassidy.

Mr Cassidy, a founding member of the Irish Film and Television Academy, has chosen two songs from the CD, Soldier On and Casualty, to feature in the pilot series of The House, set to be screened on Dublin community television this spring.

Mr Cassidy said: "The tv series is about interesting characters in real situations and maybe that's why this album sits so perfectly on the soundtrack.

"In looking for music for The House I trawled through a lot of songs over a lot of hours. Finding 'The Truth', so, was almost the religious experience the phrase suggests.

"A rich, soulful sound with lyrics that speak right at you, the album is a treasure trove of great songs. When you play this album for the first time it's like that rare but wonderful experience when you're introduced to someone and immediately feel like you've known them forever."

The songs are taken from The Truth's new CD release Time O' The Signs'. The band is set to officially launch the CD at a gig at Dolan's Warehouse in Limerick on Friday 27 February.
