Free weekend for anyone who has worked overseas in a development capacity for 3 months or more
Comhlámh, The Irish Association of Development Workers, are pleased to announce the 1st “Coming Home Weekend” of 2009 which will take place in Dublin from 13-15th February 2009 (Friday Evening – Sunday afternoon inclusive).
Have you worked overseas in a developing country and are now back in Ireland? Book a place now on Comhlámh’s “Coming Home Weekend”! An enjoyable opportunity to share your experiences, meet others home from overseas; learn, socialise, network and exchange advice. Past participants have described their sentiments in one word at the end of the weekends as "Energised, Focused, Comforted, Supported, Encouraged and Refreshed"
Coming back to Ireland can be a difficult process but coming back to Ireland now during these difficult economic times may be even more of a challenge for returnees. So take this chance to learn about the support services open to you e.g. careers service, debriefing, counselling, social events and much more The weekends are run by other returned development workers and Comhlámh staff.
The is no cost for this weekend (which is funded by Irish Aid) to people who have been overseas in a voluntary development capacity (short or long term) for longer than three months.
