with Disabilities really make a difference?

Bewley's Cafe Theatre, Grafton Street, Dublin

The most comprehensive statement of disabled people’s rights forms the content of the brand new UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). It is simply the most important event in global disability rights ever.

The first UN Convention of the twenty-first century, it passed into force in May 2008. By the middle of September 2008, it had been ratified by thirty-seven countries, from Australia to Hungary, from Jamaica to Thailand.

The CRPD has the legal and moral force to bring about real and positive changes in the lives of people with disabilities. But will it bring about these changes? Will it really make a difference? Come and find out for yourself on January 7th!

Speakers Dr. Gerard Quinn Director, Centre for Disability Law and Policy NUI Galway School of Law
Donal ToolanDisability Rights Activist
