Wednesday 15th of October, 6.00 Government Buildings
PANA supported by CAECU is holding a mock "funeral" for the Lisbon Treaty on Wednesday 15th of October at 6.00pm outside Government Buildings, Merrion Street, Dublin 2 to coincide with the EU Council of Ministers who will be discussing what to do with the Irish people after they voted to reject the treaty. As far as PANA and CAECU are concerned the treaty is dead and should be given a decent burial. All welcome.

PANA had organised a mock "funeral" for the Lisbon Treaty for Wednesday 15th of October to coincide with the meeting of the EU Council of Ministers who would decide what to do with the Irish people who voted to reject the treaty. The have now postponed the decision until December, so PANA has postponed the "funeral". The purpose of the Lisbon Treaty was to transform the EU into a centralised, militarised, neo-liberal superstate. The economic crisis has showed that an existing centralised, militarised, neo-liberal Superstate, the USA has failed, so it has shown that this model is dead. What is need now are inclusive global organisations such as a transformed United Nations that would pursue solutions to social justice and climate change that can only be done on that basis. Whether global warming is a crisis or not, it should not be used to create a global "carbon credit" tax, since such a tax greatly facilitates the estabishment and funding of a corporate New World Order, in which globalist bankers dominate.
