An evening to celebrate and concentrate minds on practical solidarity will take place on Friday 17th October 2008 at 8pm in the Glens Centre, Manorhamilton, County Leitrim.
Stalls from Mount of Olives (Galway) who sell Palestinian produce to raise funds for work with Children with special needs in Palestine and also a Fair trade stall will be in the Centre on the evening. There will also be book stalls and Palestine solidarity merchandise stalls (badges, flags etc).
There will be a short film showing on the situation in Palestine. This will be followed by speakers who will give presentations on thier perspectives and work with groups and individuals in struggle - the links between peoples and practical work that we can engage in in our own locality.
Speakers are Des Dalton, Vice President Republican Sinn Fein, Dónall Ó Meráin, local activist and former member Solidarität International, Germany. A representative from the IPSC will also speak.
