'The Word Tree' looms and a poet is required
The Western Writers' Centre are already liaising with a prominent Irish-based poetry group to organise a possible Scotland exchange . . . .but there's a missing link
The Western Writers' Centre's deadlines for submissions of events, news, books and all things literary for inclusion in their news-letter, 'The Word Tree,' is fast approaching. All such information should be sent to westernwriters@eircom.net. Future issues of 'The Word Tree' are taking poetry for publication, one poem per issue.
Meanwhile, the call is going out for a poet to participate, with the Western Writers' Centre, at a festival in Scotland next year. A matrix of how this exchange will work is already in place and the Centre are already working with one other Irish literary organisation to set it up.
But they are also looking in particular for a poet from the Galway/West of Shannon region, writing in Irish or English.
