Serendipity has proven the aptness of the Dublin International Lesbian and gay Film Festival.
The Marching Season is a film following two very different Prides. One is of London Pride and the key character is a gay muslim man and the second is of Pride in Latvia- the first publicly sanctioned event. It wasn't even mentioned nevermind promoted in last weeks Irish Times coverage of the festival. this is a fantastic opportunity for Dubliners to get a sense of the bigotry that many of our brothers and sisters have to live with every day in latvia and contrast it with the freedoms and expectations that we have in the UK and Ireland. It also challenges prejudices and misrepresatations about Muslims and homosexuality in todays UK
