Filmbase is closed for the May Bank Holiday weekend. The exhibition will still be visible through the large panel windows on Curved St.
The exhibition consists of a public online conversation with Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Israel and around the world. The Irish public will be able to talk with Palestinians from all walks of life.
If you have a question; now is your chance to ask it.
The accompanying interactive exhibition will present details on the Nakba, which is the source of the Palestinian- Israeli conflict.
Nakba is the Arabic word used to describe the events of 1948, when over 700,000 Palestinians were driven from their homes, civilians were massacred & hundreds of their villages deliberately destroyed. 60 years later they are still waiting to return.
UN Resolution 194 states that:
'... [Palestinian] refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid.'
