Cork events to recognise and celebrate Workers' Struggle

The May Day Committee/Coiste La Bealtaine invites all trades union, social movements, activist groups, community organisations and interested individuals to join the May Day celebrations in Cork on May 1st 2008.

Events will begin at 7pm on Thursday May 1st with the traditional, and greatly expanded, May Day March. Participants are invited to assemble at Connolly Hall on Lapps Quay and to bring banners, flags and props to make this as lively and colourful an event as possible.

From 8pm there will be a rally and a street party at Daunt Square, with DJs, live music and dancing till late.

At 9.30 the Spailpin Fanach hosts the May Day celebratory gig, involving, music, poetry, raffle and conversation.
