Among the events organised by the Irish Basque Committees within the International Week of Solidarity with the Basque Country the documentary “Nomadak TX” will be screened in various venues all around Ireland.
Internationally reknowned, awarded and acclaimed, “Nomadak TX” tells the story of two musicians moving, travelling with the txalaparta, a unique Basque musical instrument played by two people.
They travel to India, the Sahara, Mongolia and Lapland to fuse their music with that of remote nomadic peoples. They travel in search of sounds and they find them in other nations, in other surroundings and in other cultures. They find them in other people, who, like them, use their music to say to the world:
We are here. We are alive. We are who we are.
