LAW 2008 aims to focus attention on the issue of the private exploitation of water, and the impact of this on human development. It will have a further emphasis on the Association Agreement currently being negotiated between the European Union and the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) - to be approved by summer 2009. What is Latin America Week (LAW)?
Latin America Week (LAW) is an annual programme of educational, cultural and campaigning events on issues relating to human, social and economic rights in Latin America. A range of conferences, meetings, workshops, fundraising and cultural events will take place around Ireland. Please contact LASC on info@lasc.ie if you want to organise an event as part of Latin America Week 2008.

How can you participate?
You can participate by:
• Organising a cultural, solidarity or educational event in your community
• Attending LAW 08 events
• Becoming a LAW 08 volunteer (different skills needed!)
• Helping publicise LAW08 (through email, leaflets, etc)
• Getting involved in the “Water out of Trade Agreements” campaign
