Global warming cannot be compartmentalised into one or two neat departments at Government level. If we are to make meaningful cuts in our greenhouse gas emissions, we need a whole-of-government approach, with joined up policies from the Departments of Transport, Agriculture, Energy and the Environment.
We are hosting a forum which aims to address these questions, and to progress the debate on climate change
This meeting will take place on Saturday, February 9th from 10.30-3.30pm Mansion House, Dawson Street,Dublin 2
The Labour Party spokespersons Tommy Broughan (Transport), Liz McManus (Energy), Sean Sherlock (Agriculture) and Joanna Tuffy (Environment and Climate Change) will all make a contribution to the forum.
Guest speakers will include
· Oisin Coughlan - Director, Friends of the Earth
Brendan Halligan, Chair,Sustainable Energy Ireland
· Pat Finnegan - Grian (Greenhouse Ireland Action Network)
· Professor John Sweeney - Department of Geography, NUI Maynooth
